A Trip of a Lifetime
Australia and New Zealand were beautiful. John and I were so very blessed to have this time seeing God’s wonderful world. Above is the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. Our hotel was within walking distance of both.

Several Days in Sydney
We so enjoyed our time in Sydney. The public transportation made it easy to navigate the city. John and I always do a bunch of walking. One day I had 23,000 steps on my fitbit. We wanted to climb the bridge, but decided the cost was more than we desired to spend. Our friend, Curtis Natvig, did make the climb. We so enjoyed the walk all around the Botanical Gardens: spacious and beautiful. We went up to the top of the Sky Tower and took pictures of the city. We hadn’t realized all the water inlets into the city. We went to the Rainforest, the Zoo, where the Koalas and Kangaroos were, the Aquarium, and saw the beauty of the Central Business District all decorated for Christmas.

We Boarded the Ship
After spending Thanksgiving Day in Sydney, we boarded the ship for our 14 day cruise. We headed for Melbourne and then on around New Zealand, ending in Auckland, New Zealand. It was a beauty of a ship. The food was over the top delicious (but not Paleo). We had dance lessons, dances, excursions and such fun times with the Quon’s and the Natvig’s.

I don’t seem to be able to figure out how to turn the photo of John around. He certainly celebrated a wonderful birthday. We went on an all day excursion up in the mountains of New Zealand, having lunch at a little farm restaurant in the middle of no where it seemed. Here we were introduced to the most delicious dessert ever: Pavlova. The one at the restaurant was made from scratch. We later had one on the cruise ship above. It too was delicious. We saw two sheep roundups and one sheering. Not only do the people drive on the wrong side of the road. The also walk on the wrong side of the sidewalk, we soon discovered.
We do thank the Lord for this wonderful time.
Have you ever traveled to Australia or New Zealand? I would love to hear your favorite things.
