Answered Prayer in August
20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen,
to the glory of God through us. ~ 2 Corinthians 1:20
Welcome August
Here we are entering our last month of summer. I hope yours has shined with good memories lingering with you. Ours has definitely had its beautiful sunshine accompanied by challenges here and there to overcome. Thankfully, we’ve seen the Master do amazing things for us.
I’m often reminded of a book I read years ago by Amy Carmichael. She made a statement so very true: “Every day requires vital faith.”
This summer I’ve really been diligent watering my flowers and for the first time, we have the most beautiful blossoms on our patio. I am seeing the laws of sowing and reaping at work. My favorite is our jasmine plant that looks and smells heavenly. I’ve just planted a few strawberry plants as I think the grand girls will love watching these grow.
- Jasmine which began as a small little plant last summer
- Petunias that are only supposed to survive through June.
- Two other beautiful posts of flowers saved from last year
July and August are filled w family birthdays. Our two youngest grand girls will celebrate becoming 3 and 5. Both with be in their mama (Brennon’s) dance studio this year. This will be Cali’s first year to dance officially. She’s been dancing to recital videos with Caris all year at home so she’s well prepared.
Our oldest grandsons will be heading off to college. Austin had a great season pitching in a league in Kansas this summer. Chandler is going to a Christian school in Missouri called “Link Year”. I love the concept of the school – a link between high school and college for the student to become grounded in their faith before entering a full time college. He’s very excited about the program. Austin is excited about his second college year pitching. Braden enters his senior year in high school. He has spent the summer recovering from a football shoulder injury and surgery. He is so desiring be back playing before his senior year season ends. We have five older grandchildren that all within just a few years of age difference: four boys and one girl. Kylie is so precious. I’m sure it is hard being a girl in the midst of all these boy cousins. Kylie and Cameron will be juniors in High School this year. Goodness they are all growing up so fast. We treasure time with them.
- Braden enters his Senior year of High school. After several months of a very fluffy hairstyle, his mom insisted a haircut before senior pictures
- Chandler: this year’s graduate
- Cameron – needing the haircut Braden had
- Austin, entering his second year of college
