So Blessed

Family is ever so important to John and I.  Praying for them has always been a priority in our lives. I am so very grateful for the avenue of prayer and so grateful I have a Godly husband, who prays with me. When the children were little, I made prayer cards with my selected scriptures on them. I used them so much for so many years that they became shreds of cards. Now I have most by memory and many on my handy IPhone. God says His word never returns void and I believe it.

We are very blessed because each of our children live really close and we see them often. Pace, our middle one, has a wonderful wife, Dana, and two handsome sons. Of course, I am rather prejudiced about all of our nine grandchildren. Austin is 17 and Braden is 15.

Austin loves baseball. We have had the joy of watching him play hundreds of games since he was really young. He is on the Plano East High School Baseball team. My Dad was a professional baseball player and a scout for the Chicago Cubs for 38 years.  I see this same baseball anointing on Austin.

Braden loves football. Oh my goodness. What a sport. I don’t love it much, but do so enjoy seeing Braden play. Braden also began wrestling this year. Good grief. This was so hard to go watch. I only went once.

There are many things I am so proud of with these boys. One big thing is the great respect they show to their mom and dad and to us as grandparents.

A Few Scriptures We Pray over Our Family

Isaiah 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught from the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Ps 115:14 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Prov 6:21-23 My son, keep your father’s [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother taught you. Bind them continually upon your heart and tie them about your neck. When you go, they [the words of your parents’ God] shall lead you, when you sleep they shall keep you, and when you waken, they shall talk with you. For the commandment is a lamp and the whole teaching  [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life.

Ps 112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house and his righteousness endureth for ever.

I love a quote I read by Amy Carmeichael years and years ago.

“Every day there is something in our lives that requires vital faith.”

That is true for me and I bet it is true for you too.
