Three Things God Desires for You
There are so many more than three things that God desires for you. He says “He wishes above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul (mind, will, and emotions) prospers and keeps well.” III John 2.
He says in Ephesians 3:20:
20″Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination![a] He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
Every Promise has a Condition
He is such a good Heavenly Father. And now the question is, what are His desires that he would like to have from us? This is very important. Every single promise we are given in the Bible has a condition. If we will do this, then He will this that. Search it out yourself and see if this isn’t true.
If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,
Then you will be saved
If you seek Him with all your heart
Then you will find Him
If you sow
Then you will reap
If you ask
Then you will receive
God Desires Three Sacrifices from Each of Us
These aren’t to take away but to add to our happiness and long life. Believe it or not, they will also add to our accomplishing our goals of becoming, and staying healthy and fit. Here we go. Let’s see what they are:
Ps 50:14-15, 23
Why don’t you bring me the sacrifices I desire?
Bring me your true and sincere thanks,
and show your gratitude by keeping your promises to me,
the Most High.
15 Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble.
Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you.
Gratefulness
Gratefulness is a choice. It can become a habit. Many times it feels like a sacrifice. This pleases the Lord very much. Continually thank Him for what He has done and is doing in your life, ( even when you can’t see it, as he is often working behind the scenes. Thank Him for His angels who are all on assignment for us who are heirs of salvation
Keeping Your Promises to Him
Yes, it is easy to make a commitment and then not keep it. Early on this year I made a decision and a promise to get up an hour earlier in order to work on an assigned project concerning this website. Yikes, I kept putting it off as I fought the “battle of the covers” each morning. Finally, I chose to enforce my commitment. It was hard at first but now is actually a joy. He says it brings Him joy when we keep our promises to Him. I want to bring Him great joy.
Trusting in Him in Your Day of Trouble
This may be the hardest one. We each can do it because He tells us to.
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be [a]sober, be [b]vigilant; [c]because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:6-8
Since this is something that pleases our Heavenly Father, let’s develop this habit.
