As a Christian, if God tells you to do this; then, you can renew your mind. It has to be possible. And isn’t it exciting to see that by renewing your mind, you will be transformed?
For most of my decades of being a Christian, I have known about renewing the mind. I love putting God’s Word into my heart every day. My progress has been so minimal considering what is possible. It is very thrilling to see how science and the Bible match and to learn a more exact way to renew my mind.
And be ye not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
Dr. Caroline Leaf
As 2015 began, the Lord reminded me of a teacher I heard years ago who spoke at our church. I found her website and ordered her new book: Who Switched On My Brain? Very shortly after that, I learned that Kenneth Copeland had her as a guest for two weeks on his TV broadcast in January. I quickly tuned in to kcm.org, found the archives of the shows, and began listening and learning. I realized this material was so powerful that I needed to enroll in her online course at 21daybraindetox.com.
Dr. Caroline Leaf is one of the, if not THE, foremost brain scientists in the world. She is also a student of God’s Word with tremendous revelation knowledge. She has proven that science matches God’s Word.
How Did God Create Us?
God created us as a three-part being: Spirit, Soul, and Body. This is the reason that health is a circle. We can’t leave out any area.
We are a Spirit
God wired us for love (joy, peace, expectation, health). We are not wired for fear. The Spirit man is designed to control the Soul and the Body when our mind is renewed to God’s Word. In the Spirit man resides our:
- Communion (Worship)
We Have a Soul
The Soul is referred to as the “Mind” by Dr. Leaf. The Mind is our
The mind is designed to be renewed and then to control the Body. NOTE: The Brain is NOT part of the mind. This will be very important to know as we learn more.
We live in a Body:
- Our Physical Body
- Our Brain
There are two kinds of thoughts:
- Good Healthy, Life Promoting Thoughts
- Toxic Thoughts
God tells us to think on things good and pure and lovely and of a good report. You will soon see why.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Spirit, Soul, and Body
The soul is the deciding factor. The Spirit man is designed to rule and become strong. The flesh desires to take over and rule. The flesh wants to be boss of what you eat, how much you eat, how much you weigh, and whether you want to exercise or be lazy and not. When we are very young, our parents have responsibility of planting seeds of truth into our soul. As we get older, we become responsibile for these choices. Our character is developed one thought, one choice, at a time. We are responsible to train our flesh to obey.
