Creating Memories
Ever since John and I had children, I have always loved creating memories via pictures. If you could see all of my scrapbooks, you would understand. With grandchildren, the picture taking has multiplied as well as the books.
You’ll see as I soon share the last secrets of the Blue Zone Longevity Champions that they put their loved ones as a high priority. They invested time in getting closer to their family. Somehow through working with pictures, I seem to treasure my family even more. I can review and remember special wonderful memories.
Another to College
Our youngest daughter, Brennon, and her husband, Brett, will be sending their oldest son, Chandler, off to college in Missouri on Saturday. He is a precious young man, whose company we all enjoy. His choice for college is a very unique program called Link Year…a year between high school and college to become firmly established in one’s faith. Chandler has a real heart for the Lord and how he can serve Him with His life.
The past several months I have been working on a project for Chandler. It is a book of his years up until now. To do this I have had to scan in pages of past books as he was born long before I knew how to work with digital photos.
Chatbooks
All the photos are scanned in. I am just about to decide to use a brand new app I just discovered called Chatbooks. My friend, Erin, at Crossfit told me about this and gave me a link for my first book free. Actually, I already have two books made and ordered: one of our Cancun Trip and one I made for our little granddaughters to help them learn to read. It was a breeze to work with. It saved me hours and hours of time in formatting. I was able to quickly add photos from my phone or my computer. Honestly, it was done in less than an hour.
If I choose this route for Chandlers’s book, it will be a smaller book in size, but I see that I can add up to 366 pages….wow. It will still capture all of his growing up years and I can easily write captions as I go. ….Just about convinced myself on this project route.
Watch for a coming post where I tell you more about this. We want to be able to capture those memories without feeling overwhelmed in making a book. Simple, easy and inexpensive is what I need. What about you? As for now, you, too, can get the free app and your first series book free by using this link:

Please note that by using this link I do get some kind of a credit toward my next book:) and you get your first book free.
INVESTING IN LIFES
John and I had the great blessing of taking all four of our older grandsons out to dinner last week before school started and our first born grandson, Austin, left for his second year of college.
These guys have somehow gotten bigger than me. Austin, to my left may be the biggest. His brother on my right has possibly gotten taller than him. Cameron, on the end in the plaid shirt, has had a wonderful growing spree this past year. We’ve tried to create a tradition these past two years of taking them to a nice restaurant before school begins. It was a very special evening to John and I just being with them and hearing them talk about their plans.
Younger Grandsons
The week before one of the younger grandsons, Nathan, celebrated his 10th birthday. We took these two younger ones out to breakfast and a few games of bowling.
What a joy it is to invest in the lives of our grandchildren.
Do you have grandchildren? I’d love to hear about any traditions or special things you do with yours.
