Our Words have Power
Besides having discovered the Wuest translation of the New Testament, I have also discovered a book called Word Studies in the New Testament by Wuest. I was so very encouraged yesterday as I read about a man discussed and on record in an early Greek manuscript called Titedious Amerimnos.
Titedious was his proper name. The second name is made from a word (Merimnos) meaning “to worry”.
When the Greek letter Alpha is prefixed to it, the word meaning becomes the opposite of what it formerly meant.
It is thought that this man was a pagan Greek who worried all the time. After he was saved, he stopped worrying. So he became known as Titedious, the Man who Never Worries.
The One Who Never Worries
Because our words have such great power in creating the future, can we write our name and add to it, “The One Who Never Worries.” I love this thought.
“Stop worrying about even one thing, but in everything by prayer, (whose essence is that of worship and devotion), and by supplication (which is a cry for your personal needs), with thanksgiving let your requests for the things asked for be made known in the presence of God,
And the peace of God which surpasses all power of comprehension shall mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Phillipians 4:5-7
