This month many of you will be enjoying end-of-the-school-year events, maybe wedding celebrations and maybe planning for a summer vacation. Of course, all of these special times usually offer occasions for eating. If you have begun on the Path of Fitness and Inch Loss, you will want to do some strategizing before the occasions roll up. tape measureWe do not wish to wear those delicious food offerings after the events. With planning, you can still have a great time and yet feel good after each event because you had a plan and followed it.

Carb Confusion and Counting Calories

abacus-counting-frame-wooden-beadsWe’ve all begun to learn that not all calories are created equal and we can’t really rely on counting calories to achieve our fitness goals. Calorie Counting only brings worry to our day. It is a hard mindset shift for each of us, as this is what we have been taught most all of our years. Once you can free yourself from the calorie prison, you will love eating without guilt again.

Second, not all carbohydrates are created equal. We desperately need the good carbs like fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. We do not need any of the processed carbs: cookies, cakes, candy, etc. And if you follow Fabufit Paleo eating, you will also step away from breads, crackers and pasta. It seems like it is hard, but it really isn’t. You will have some great replacement ideas. Note the recipe for Easy Paleo Tortillas is on my website. What a fine alternative these make.

There is no dietary requirement for processed food. Stick with nature and your health will soar.

Replace the scales with the Tape Measure.

cartoonHave you realized that the scales lie? They are a huge emotional thief, turning your day into a downhill tumble if you listen to them on a day they are lying (most of the time.) On the other hand the Tape Measure is quite truthful. Inches tell the real story.
