Gardening Baby Steps Style

The earth is starting to wake up here in Illinois . . . I know it is 23 degrees but I can see plants starting to wake up.

How exciting it is to go out your back door and pick spinach, mixed greens and some herbs, to eat right away.  Here is a picture of my planter pot garden right out my back door. Soon the snow and ice will be melting.

Here is how you can get started:  Shop for seeds. Find spinach, arugula, kale, red leaf lettuce seeds – all easy greens to grow in a planter pot.

Find a nice large planter with holes in the bottom, and place it in a sunny area. Fill the bottom with stones and rocks and then pour in potting soil almost to the top. Plant the seeds and I like to buy herbs, basil, parsley, thyme, chives, rosemary, tarragon, sage.

Water the seed in. This is an easy way to get fresh in your daily life.
