I love this time of the year as we begin to see the flowers blooming and the trees blossoming. For me it is a reminder of a new season and time to learn new things, which I so enjoy doing. Life is a journey of discovering all the treasures that God has prepared for us.
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Yes, this is one of the most special of all holidays for Christians. We celebrate with gratefulness and deep appreciation what Jesus did for us. He paid the price for our sins and redeemed us from the curse of the law. Aren’t you glad we don’t have to slaughter an animal to sacrifice in order to be cleansed of our sins? We have the simple, but powerful, avenue of “confessing our sins”.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Family
For John and I we have special times to look forward to with our family.
It’s baseball season and time to watch our oldest grandson, Austin, play baseball. This year he is pitching as a freshman on a college team. In fact, we are headed off to East Texas today to see him pitch. How we thank the Lord for a full baseball scholarship. He has worked so very hard for many years with special coaches and additional summer baseball leagues. And yes, he has also overcome some serious setbacks, like a 9th grade torn ACL in a football game, resulting in a missed baseball season and a slow comeback with the High School Baseball team.
The older grandchildren are growing up with Austin in college, Chandler leaving for college next year, then Braden the following year. Kylie and Cameron will follow. I must add that Cameron is such an entrepreneur that college may not be his cup of tea. (I am behind in my picture organization for 2017 so I will admit these are not the most current.)
- Austin, Chandler and Braden going to breakfast for Braden’s birthday
- Cameron Finished His 10th Grade Season at McMillan High
- Kylie with us for last year’s 15th birthday. She will soon turn 16
- Nathan, 9
- Carter playing with Pistols even with a crick in his neck. You see his dad, coach Brett, in background. They won Championship
- Cali and Caris spending the day at Mimi and Papas
Our little grandgirls (4 and 2) are already practicing their spins and twirls. The older is in her second year of dance at her mom’s dance studio. Years of joy ahead with them and us.
