The Power of Imagination
Imagination is so powerful, it actually becomes reality. We see this in the Bible as God describes what happened concerning the Tower of Babel. Although this was using the power of a God-given imagination in a way displeasing to the Lord, it clearly reveals what imagination can do.
The people at that time decided they would pridefully build a tower that would reach heaven. They all came into agreement and began the work. Here is what God said about them in Genesis:
Genesis 11:6…”and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.”
God Stepped in and Stopped Them
God had to confuse their languages so they could not understand each other. They couldn’t communicate so they could not complete this imagination. This was the origin of different languages.
The Currency of Imagination
There is a wonderful book by Kerry Kirkwood called The Power of Imagination. He states,
“In the terms of the Kingdom of Heaven, reality is operating in the currency of Imagination.” He encourages us by telling us that when we get a picture (image) from the Father of lights, we should speak it out. This moves the image from our spirit to the drawing board of reality.
Angels move at the speed of light. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there. They are listening to what we speak so they can go to work in our behalf. However, they only work on things good and pure and lovely and in agreement with God’s Word. We are the voice of God in the earth today speaking His Word.
Bless the Lord, ye his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of His Word. ~ Psalms 103:20
Our Physical Body is Listening
Not only are the angels listening to our spoken imaginations, our physical body also listens and responds to what we imagine. Let’s break the barrier of Fitness and Health Failure as we begin to imagine:
- How healthy we could really be
- How good we could really feel
- How young we could really look
