A Test More Important
Many years ago I heard of a preventative medicine doctor in Portland, Oregon who used natural food and supplements with his patients to overcome many health situations. As I began to study his material and see the validity in his work, I took my mom and dad to Portland to go through his workup and have him design a program for them. I also went through the workup and received a program for myself.
In June of 2017 Dr. Richard Brouse, did a teleconference class on the subject of Telomeres. He says we should all be concerned about the length or our own telomeres and how to increase this length. He declares that our telomere length determines not just our life span, but our health span as well. Telomeres are the most significant markers of age.
Very recently our Fabufit team zeroed in on this subject of Telomeres as we are delving into a course on Longevity and the Secrets of the Blue Zones. Let me share just a few of the high points of the class.
What is a Telomere?
Why are Telomeres Important
Dr. Brouse has had his telomere length tested. We can too for about $89. Although Dr. Brouse is in his 60’s, his telomere length, (which reveals health at the cellular level), says he is actually 46.
Eight years ago Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn received a Nobel prize on this subject. This is more current research than that of the Blue Zones. Dr. Blackburn is on the Shaklee Board. Shaklee is a company I am very very familiar with as I have been associated with this nutritional company since 1978. Dr. Brouse knew and learned from Dr. Forrest Shaklee many years ago.
What Do Some Have Longer Telomeres than Others?
Stay tuned for the second post on telomeres coming next.
“If you are feeling good at 99 why wouldn’t you want to love to 100. We have not really improved the healthspan in last 50 years to any extent whatsoever.” ~ Dr. Brouse
