Last year about this time, I discovered Santa’s Bag app for my iphone and ipad. It was a winner. This year, I pulled it up again and it has gotten even better (or possibly I’ve learned how to use it better?)
The main page is an overview for you. It gives you a place to set your Christmas budget for the year, a Christmas Day countdown, and the breakdown of your budget.
It will give you the number of gifts purchased already, the ones left to buy, and also tells you just how much is left to spend in your budget. ….and Believe it or not, the main page is just icing on the cake.
Inside the tabs, you can easily organize everyone you need to buy presents for. I created groups called: family, friends, and personal expenses. (Those personal expenses like Christmas Cards, stamps, replacement Christmas lights and gifts you really need for yourself can really add up.)
Through your Recipients Tab you can put in budgets by person, keep track of gift ideas, the gift’s prices, stocking stuffers, and the person’s wishlist if you wish.

I discovered only this morning that I can also add a gift and then add tax to that gift to keep my budget accurate. Another tremendous feature is that you can check a box by the recipient when their shopping is finished.
Once you have finishing your creating your gift giving list, Santa’s Bag organizes each gift through the labels ‘idea’, ‘need to buy’, ‘purchased’, ordered, and wrapped.
Honestly, this is my very favorite Christmas app. It is saving me so much time and giving me peace of mind that I am not wildly spending money that will reappear as bills after Christmas
