I am happy to welcome again one of the most beautiful months of the year. It is my favorite month. Not only is it beautiful because of the changing seasons and fall colored leaves; but the beauty goes much deeper as we celebrate Thanksgiving and remember the many blessings God has given to us in America.
America was founded on godly principles rooted in God’s eternal Word. God declares to us in His mighty Word that a nation whose God is the Lord will be blessed. Psalm 33:12.
As we see in the Mayflower Compact, America was founded to give glory to God and to advance the Christian faith.
“Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia…”
This month is such a great time to intentionally think on all the blessings in our lives: family, friends and freedom. We have freedom to worship The Lord without fear. I remind myself not to take this for granted as I realize many other people in other nations don’t have that freedom. I am thankful that we have the freedom to vote. How grateful we are that we still have freedom as Christians in this country.
November’s posts and the Fabulously Fit Team will be focusing on Holiday Eating: Coming through the Holiday with Joy and without Wearing these holidays in the New Year. Simple strategies in place can make such a difference. You have missed the class enrollment for the teleconference classes: but, if you would like the Ebook and Workbook on Holiday Eating, I have it ready for you.
John and I are personally grateful for our country, our right to vote and also our family. One of our grandsons, Carter, turns 13 this month. He found out last night he has made the Murphy Middle School Basketball Team. With 60 boys trying out for the team, this was a great blessing. He is a hard worker, a precious boy and a very skilled (like his older brothers and his dad) basketball player. We do rejoice as we look forward to another season of basketball.
We give thanks that our family may all be together this Thanksgiving. Our three oldest will be home from college.
PS 116:17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of The Lord. KJ
Ps 64:10 make praise your habit. The Message
