Our Family is a Joy
In thinking about how our family is such a joy, I realize that time is more important than gifts. For Mother’s Day, I asked the children for the gift of time: a one-on-one time out to lunch with each one. Our son, Pace, scheduled his time first. I looked forward to it all week. He took me to dinner. It was a very special time having no interruptions for two hours. The dinner was certainly a bonus, but the time was of the utmost of a treasure.
John and I had offered to have Mother’s Day dinner at our home. Our daughter, Brooke, graciously offered their home, and her husband, Jim, volunteered to make his famous omelets. The guys worked hard as they created delicious omelets with cheese, tomatoes, onion, peppers, and even strips of bacon inside. I can still smell the bacon cooking.
We choose not to allow any sadness to come in as we were missing, Chandler, Cameron, Kylie, Shea, Pace’s family, and for the first year ever, my mom. Mom was rejoicing in heaven. Older grands were at college or away working. Austin was playing a college baseball series in Louisianna with Pace and Dana there watching. Still, it was a very happy memorable day! I do hope you also had good memories to store from this day.
The Busy Month of May
John and I got to take one trip to see Austin, our oldest grandson, play in his Division 1 Baseball. We did enjoy our time seeing him pitch and then time out to dinner so very much. How we had hoped to see the playoff games next week but sadly they are scheduled for Alabama. Carter, our next to the youngest grandson, has begun driving this spring. Oh my goodness! How can he be this old? We have had our joy full as we have watched his basketball games.
Carter’s high school 9th-grade team took the honors. He also plays on an outside team made up actually of the high school team coached by Carter’s dad, Brett, and another coach. The Plano East Hight School coach should be really happy as these two coaches are totally preparing these boys for 10th grade as they have them in a league of 11th and 12th graders. And they are shining. Tomorrow is the final playoff game of this season and they play for the title. (They won the title.)
Caris and Cali are dancers and have their dance recital at the Garland Performing Arts Center in about a week. (This happens to be the same time as Austin’s playoffs in Alabama.) Their mom, Brennon, who owns the studio they dance at, is very proud of these girls. Thank the Lord they have their mom’s grace and ability.
Dancing for John and I has finally opened back up with a first big dance this coming Saturday night. We do have so many wonderful dancing friends.
A week after the recital we will leave for beautiful Cancun, where our timeshare is. The entire Buchanan bunch plus one are going also. The boys grew up loving this trip to the beach each year. We have so many memories from Cancun. I am looking forward to making more.
A Great Blessing
One of the greatest blessings of this year has been the discovery of Pastor Curry Blake and the Dominion Life Church. Our best friends in Georgia actually found the church while searching for teaching by John G. Lake (who has the most documented healings in history on record up until now.) Lake lived in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
Curry Blake read his biography and history about 20 years ago and searched to find any living relatives. He found his daughter. As time went on John G. Lake’s daughter gave the ministry her dad left over to Curry Blake. It is a fascinating story. Since I had read and reread John G. Lake’s biography many years ago, I couldn’t wait to find out more. The training center Church is right down the road from us. We joined the church and have learned more about who we are in Jesus Christ this year than maybe ever before.
Curry Blake’s teaching is simple and powerful and completely in agreement with scripture. I encourage you to search youtube for Curry Blake. You can even go through his entire Diving Healing Technician training for free online. If you take the time to search this out and listen, you will find it to be a gift to receive that will very likely completely change your life. Below is a short video on Healing.
