Reflect and Readjust
It’s always good to reflect and readjust when a new year begins. Several thoughts have been swirling in my mind these past weeks. Many thoughts about the stolen election have occupied space and become the focus of much prayer for John and I. We still hold fast to the belief that justice and truth will prevail. We listen to faith based news versus fake news.
Faith based news: Flashpoint on the GoVictory channel found on Dish Network and Direct TV. We find it with our Roku device since we have cancelled cable. NewsmaxTV is good and also OAN. We can’t even allow ourselves the opportunity of being swayed by the FAKE news on all of mainstream media.
Faith is the Substance of Things Hoped For
Faith can be known to do crazy things. Faith calls those things which be not as though they were, (and they become…. says one older translation). Romans 4:17. Faith doesn’t look at how circumstances appear, but rather at what God’s word says. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. As He is, so are we in this world.
A Beautiful Christmas
I do pray that Christmas was a most beautiful time for you and your family. Our joy was full as we had almost ALL of our family with us on Christmas Eve and also Christmas Day. We missed having Kylie, Shea and Cameron. Cameron did get to come the week before. Kylie could not get off work. Shea was busy cooking for the homeless. Christmas Eve was spent enjoying our new three year tradition of Candlelight Service and then a Prime Rib Dinner at our house. It was such a wonderful time just enjoying being with family. We spent Christmas Day at Brennon and Brett’s home. Pace cooked us a ham.We visited my mom earlier in the day and decided it wasn’t a good idea to try and get her out. She missed her first family Christmas with us all.

God’s Kindness
As I think back, I realize how gracious our Lord was to postpone Mom’s home going until the day after Christmas. She was doing very well at Maria’s and being given the most excellent of care. We didn’t have a concern about her.
December 11th mom had very plainly and distinctly told me that her life of earth was coming to an end. She said “I’ve had a very good life.” From that day forward she began to smile more than I had ever known her to smile. She also began to stare outside or somewhere in her room. I realized she was getting glimpses of heaven and she was happy about it.
Gratefulness and a New Bar Set
My mother lived to 100 and 1/2 years old. She took care of herself and kept her immune system strong. Her Bible was almost always in her lap. She loved and trusted the Lord. Doris Capps, set for us, her family, a new legacy. We also can live to 100 without disease (if Jesus tarries). We also can have joy as our journey on earth comes to an end.
A New Legacy
We are so very grateful for her 100 years of life in our family. Her Life Celebration was nothing short of beautiful. Many miracles happened (including the clearing of an ice storm) to make the day one never to be forgotten. We laughed and clapped at the stories my brother, daughter and nieces told. We were raptured by the songs of WT Greer, and relived so many memories seeing the slideshow that Shea and I created. The funeral was unique. Anyone who had not known the life mom lived would not have understood why I began the slideshow with “Take Me Out to the Ballgame“. Baseball was her life because she loved my dad and baseball was his entire life.
Hope is the Anchor
We begin this new year with hope. The Bible tells us to let hope be the anchor of our soul.

We have hope for justice to prevail. Hope for revival and transformation in our United States is strong. Our prayer for you is a year of health, strength, courage, and prosperity.
