Spinach/Hamburger Dish
One of our wonderful Team Fabulous members shared this recipe with us. Mary Jane is a wonderful cook and often has much company on weekends at The Place in the country. Mary Jane has also become a Paleo Lifetyle advocate. Here is one of her easiest and favorite recipes:
Ingredients
1 # Hamburger Meat
1/2 Onion
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder or minced Garlic
1 bag of fresh Spinach
How to Make
- Brown onion with hamburger meat in skillet. Season to taste, but be generous with the garlic.
- When the hamburger meat is done, add a whole bag of fresh spinach.
- Stir until spinach is wilting and remove from heat.
Side Notes from Mary Jane
“I usually use one whole onion and an additional pound of ground meat (turkey). I like to cook my onions until grilled in bacon drippings to start as this really adds a great added flavor.” ~ Mary Jane Hathaway
Side Notes from Dani
John and I loved the ease of this dish and the health filled spinach it contains. I tried to short cut with dry onion flakes, but will do real onion next time. I didn’t use the bacon drippings to start my onion in. Next time I will either use fresh bacon drippings (if have some), or coconut oil to pregrill my onions in.
This is a great dish when you are short on preparation time. So easy and so good!
Thank you Mary Jane.
