Your Strength and Your Song
Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, The Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
God has appointed the use of song against His and our enemy. The Bible tells us that singing is a child’s weapon against evil He instructs us in Ephesians to speak to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our heart to the Lord. (Eph 6:18)
Prayer And Song
This past Sunday, our Pastor, Brian Jared, preached on the importance of prayer and song at all times, but most especially when we hit a difficult season in our life. This is the time we least feel like praise and singing; and yet the time we need it most to create our breakthrough.
The Enemy Runs
i began to realize in a much deeper way the importance of offering the sacrifice of song as a habit in my life. This week I have been recalling songs I know and doing my best to sing them. My singing voice isn’t the best, but I realize that is not what matters. Like any habit, this is one that can be developed. As I begin to see with the eye of faith how the devil flees when we sing, I am more and more motivated to sing.
Praise and Singing Brought an Earthquake
- Paul and Silas in Prison
- Their Praise and Singing Brought an Earthquake to set them free
Remember in the New Testament when Paul and Silas were beaten and flogged and put in prison. They did the most unusual thing. They began to sing and praise the Lord. Suddenly, a massive earthquake occurred and the prison doors were opened.
Singers Went in Front of the Army
We read in II Chronicles 20 about Jehoshaphat appointing singers to go out before his army and to say, Praise the Lord; his mercy endures forever. When they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against their enemies.
If You Knew for Sure
If you knew for sure that your praise and singing would make the enemy, (who is coming against you today), run away from you and the situation in your life that he has caused to torment and defeat you; would you sing?
If we believe the Bible, we know that every part of it is true. He didn’t tell us to sing and praise because it was just something to do. I am realizing it is a huge piece of our warfare as Christians. I am choosing to sing. Won’t you join me?
