The Set of Your Sail II
Our environment is really a mirror of our attitude, the set of our sail. Jim Rohn says, “Failure is just a few errors in judgment repeated, while success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” This realization requires our sails to be set toward hope, expectation, and success. As we expect success, we find success.

Seek and you shall find,

be opened to you.” Mt 7:7Listen to the nuggets of Wisdom from Earl Shoaf
We Walk by Faith and Not by Sight
The Bible instructs us to “see the end in the beginning.”What are you believing for in your health and fitness this year? It begins in your imagination. How do you imagine yourself at the end of 2021? Imagination turns into faith and faith paired with discipline creates visible reality. “Faith is the magic substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” Our Lord desires for us to be continually stretching and walking by faith and not by sight. His delight is when we trust Him with all of our heart.
Do you see your health at a new level at the end of this year? What scripture promises do you have ready to declare and act on? Discipline is the activator of faith. Do you believe your health and fitness can improve? Whether you think it can or you think it can’t, you are right.
Find Treasures
The Bible is filled and overflowing with treasures waiting for us to find. He also uses corresponding books and people to share these nuggets. Mentors can step into our lives to help us apply principles and promises. We can even find mentors for free. You Tube can bring them right into our home for us to learn from. Here are valuable treasures Earl Shoaf taught Jim Rohn that will also make a difference in the set of our own sails. Always listen to anyone including a mentor with discernment to be sure their nuggets line up with God’s word.
A Beginning Attitude
Our attitude at the beginning of a task effects the outcome of the success of the task. (Have you ever noticed how becoming excited and committed to a new goal starts to make you feel successful already? Small things like deciding to improve your posture and stand tall can make you feel slimmer. Try it!)
Two Blessings
It is our attitude toward life that attracts life’s attitude toward us. (A wonderful idea is to train yourself to expect two blessings for every trouble the comes your way.)
Interdependene
We are interdependent. It is impossible to succeed without others. Our attitude toward others determines their attitude toward us.
Act the Person You Want to Become
We must think, act, talk as would the person we want to become. (The journey of learning and renewing our mind every day is a lifetime journey. The more we renew our mind to the Word of God, the more wisdom we glean for life’s path.I’ve heard one pastor say that the most we will ever grow will be done on earth, not in Heaven. Let’s not waste a moment of this time.)
Change Channels
Your mind can hold only one thought at a time. (Choose your thoughts wisely. If you think you can, you can. Learn to immediately change channels when negative thoughts try to barge in. One of my favorite strategies is to have a Happy Thought for the day to bounce back to when opposite thoughts try to reign. Remember too that Words are on a higher plane than thoughts. Use your words to overcome thoughts. Most powerful of all is to use the Word of God to overcome negative thoughts. Train your mind to have scripture promises ready for the battle. ~ Dani)
