What is the difference? What is the balance?

The Law

The Law commands obedience, but gives neither the desire nor the power to obey. Aren’t we so glad that Jesus fulfilled the Law so we that we now have been given both the power to obey and the desire to obey our Heavenly Father’s commands?

Grace

Grace sweetly exhorts us to a life of obedience and provides both the desire and the power to obey.

Philippians 2:13 New Living Translation (NLT)

¹³ For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Grace in no way dismisses obedience, but gives us the means of obedience. The choice is still ours.
