Thank You
First, let me express my heartfelt gratitude for those of you who read my posts; and for those very special ones who are a part of Team Fabulous. My prayer is that Christmas created some good memories for you and that you have renewed hope for 2017.
We did have our entire family home for Thanksgiving with us. Christmas missed our son and his family as they spent that time in Colorado with Dana’s mom. We did get to spend a bit of time with our oldest grandson, Austin, who was home from his first year in college during the holiday time.
January is such a good month to become motivated to tackle new goals, plan new plans, learn new things and pray for the year ahead. My beginning January days have been filled with immense hope and expectation of what God has in store for our nation, our family and John and I personally. Instead of trying to be extremely organized in writing this, let me just write from my heart and share a few things that so hopefully will inspire you to make some new plans and expect some new miracles.
One of the first things I began to think on as 2017 began was how imprisoned I felt with my email inbox approaching 19,000 emails. I’ve known for the past few years I had to develop a system to file and delete, but I just couldn’t seem to find the time or know how to make it happen. I took the time to watch a few You Tube learning videos. They helped some; but my biggest help was Gmail Help. I learned how to manage and delete folders I had set up in the past, and how to immediately put an email that needed saving into a folder. Another important thing was unsubscribing to an assortment of sales emails. I even found a way using my iPhone to click the email open, then click the three dots at the top for more and see my folders come up to select and quickly put the email into. I have diligently worked on tackling these emails and am now down to 1500 versus almost 20K. Oh what a good feeling! I have found so many lost pieces of information on emails as well:) I am almost liberated from Email Jail
Another first thing I needed to do was either purchase a new computer or find a way to get more Hard drive space as my Mac was working at a crawling pace and taking short naps along each journey destination I needed to get to. It was literally taking forever to write one post. A telephone person at Apple help told me about buying a SSD Drive to give me 1 Terabyte of space. Our Best Buy support plan (more about this wonderful yearly service later as I share my favorite finds of 2016) installed the drive at no cost. All I had to do was buy the drive. They got all my past drive data and programs smoothly transferred to the new drive and now I have left my snail paced workdays and moved into lightning speed (almost).
John and I were invited by some good friends to join them in a cruise to Australia and New Zealand at the end of 2017. We’ve never been on a cruise or big trip (not counting our Timeshare in Cancun) except those earned and totally paid for by Shaklee 15 years ago. It was a big decision. God gave us peace about moving ahead. Our good friends are rather seasoned travelers and are teaching us some ends and outs. I also subscribed to a Free Program called I Fly Free via email and we are learning how to work the travel mile Credit Card system. There are some good bonus miles out there if one has good credit and pays their bill fully each month. We are so so excited about this trip. It is even more fun with so many months to think about and plan for it. We will be dancing a bunch on this cruise, so another of my goals is to improve in this area. My biggest area of need is confidence. I meditated some wonderful confidence building scriptures last summer when preparing for that scary performance. For sure I must get them back out quickly and begin trusting the Lord for increased confidence.
Psalms 18:28
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
29For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
My heart is filled with Hope. I look forward to sharing that hope as we begin our very first Fabulously Fit Course January 27th. Hope can be contagious.
