Thanking God for Another Month
As I prepare this morning to attend a funeral of our long time friend, Valentine Robinson, I realize how blessed we are to have another day, another month beginning. Val was only 66. John and I thank God for the inspiration he was in our lives as a Godly leader, a devoted husband to Janette, and the highest example of a loving father to his seven children.
Life is short. We need to all be prepared (as Val was) to meet the Master and rejoice as we enter the gates of Heaven. God tells each of us that if we believe in our heart the Lord Jesus and confess with our mouth that God raised Him from the dead; we shall be saved. The word saved is “sozos” meaning saved, healed, delivered, preserved and made whole. I am so very grateful that Jesus is my personal Savior, my personal Healer and my Deliver. He is all I need.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Melodious May
It is always encouraging to me to name my month. This month I declare melodies of victory dancing through the days. As I hear the birds chirping, I think of God’s word that says “the birds cheer us on.” Don’t you love that thought!
Renewing Our Minds
This month will continue the theme of Renewing Our Minds. We will see the strong correlation between a mind free of toxic thoughts and a strong, healthy and fit Spirit, soul and body. It is so possible to become free of these damaging, life-destroying toxic thoughts. We are brilliant. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are wired for good things. I will be drawing upon my years of study of God’s mighty word and my recent study of the word-renowned brain scientist, Dr. Caroline Leaf.
