Where Do Thoughts Come From?
(Taken from material studied by Dr. Caroline Leaf, Cognitive Research Scientist)
Our Five Physical Senses
Electromagnetic and Quantum Signals
These are sent via other thoughts and words. Words are energy and energy effects matter.
There are thoughts deep in the non conscious storehouse of memories that have been coming into our non conscious since conception, says Dr. Leaf.
Other thoughts come in from external sources like friends, family, television, movies. What external sources are bringing thoughts into your mind?
Toxic thought patterns must be discovered before we can bring in new healthy thought replacements.
Thoughts also come in from books: the most important book being God’s Word:
You and I are brilliant because we are created in God’s very image. We are wired for love (for thoughts good, pure and lovely and of a good report.) Dr. Leaf says that Science is now proving the Bible. Science and the Bible tell us we can wire out and melt every toxic thought pattern. As we do this, Dr. Leaf says we are increasing our intelligence, our wisdom and our health. This is wonderful. We have an optimism bias built into our minds.
Establishing a daily habit of reading God’s Word is a wonderful way to renew your mind. God tell us in Romans to not be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind.
For years, my husband, John, and I have followed a daily Bible reading plan created by Dr. Tom Leding. Although he has since gone on to be with the Lord, here is a site where you can find his Eagle Club reading plan each month:
