If you feel hopeless to change the direction your life is going, take heart.  You have the power to change the future!

How do you do that? It’s a process, that I learned many years ago in a little book called The Tongue: A Creative Force by Charles Capps. I learned that my spoken words have more power than my thoughts have. To overcome a wrong thought, I must speak a right word.

Oh my goodness, this book totally changed my life. Inspired by the book, I began to search the scriptures to see what the Bible had to say about the power of our words. It was amazing to me to see how much I found. I realized that the circumstances of my life were the result of words I had previously spoken. We are all in a war on this earth. God says in John 10:10 that there is a thief that comes to kill, to steal, and to destroy. That the enemy is constantly trying to put thoughts of defeat and distress in our minds. These thoughts, if not taken captive, will lead us to defeat. Order your copy of  Tongue: A Creative Force. LINK TO AMAZON

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Ok, so how does this change the channel of your life? Negative words defeat us. For example:

“I can’t do it”  “I always fail” “I’m too old to change”  “I’m too busy to worry about it” “Bad luck follows me around” “I’m not good enough” and on and on.

When we have counterattack words ready to come against the enemy in any area, we can defeat those defeating thoughts and we can overcome them.

It does take having a plan, but that’s not so very hard. Right thoughts provide tremendous momentum. Have you ever read the story of Victor Frankl who survived the Nazi Prison Camp because he purposefully took his thoughts captive? I would recommend it highly. BibleGod has given us an instruction manual for life. He has answers for everything we might ever face.  He tells us in Phil 4:8 “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious – the best, not the worst, the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.”
